Creating Interactive Hand-Written Web Pages on Tablet PC

In this class I have realized that most Web pages are based on text, pictures, and graphics. The Tablet PC provides another method to convey information by incorporating written content. Adding handwriting to your Web pages enables you to have a more personal look and feel. Incorporating pen-enabled actions means that you users can enter data while standing, rather than needing a place to rest a keyboard. Users can also annotate over images, providing greater ability to easily point out specific details in those images. By creating interactive ink content, you make your Web site more interesting, more useful, and provide extended feedback to the user.

Things That Can Be Done With jQuery

The things that can be done with jQuery are
jQuery makes it easy to write powerful JavaScript apps and create eye-catching animated effects rivalling those of Flash movies. Amongst other things, jQuery is great for:
•Adding animated effects to elements. jQuery lets you easily add effects such as fading in/out, sliding in/out, and expanding/contracting.
•Making XML (Ajax) requests. These use JavaScript to request additional data from the Web server without having to reload the page.
•Manipulating the DOM. You can easily add, remove, and reorder content in the Web page using just a couple of lines of code.
•Creating image slideshows. You can use jQuery effects to build nice animated slideshows and lightboxes.
•Making drop-down menus. jQuery makes it easy to create multi-level dropdowns with animations.
•Creating drag-and-drop interfaces. Use jQuery to build a page with elements that can be repositioned or reordered simply by dragging and dropping.
•Adding power to forms. With jQuery you can easily add complex client-side form validation, create auto-complete Ajax text fields that pull data from a server-side database.
Desktop applications that would make great Web applications : microsoft office templates.

My Experience Creating an Interactive Web Page

I'm working or creating an interactive web page that would provide standard-based learning curriculum web resources, designed to enhance online learning opportunities for children in primary school (K1-K8) in Africa with little or no computer skills.
The site will be designed to interact with its users through a text-based or graphical user interface with a minimum computer skill. The site/web page will be designed using dynamic HTML (DHTML) as the markup language that allows scripting language to change variable which in turn affects the look and function of the static HTML page content.
The basic aspects of this web page are:
- The content; the substance information on the site should be relevant and should target the people the web site concerns.
- The usability; the site should be user friendly with the interface and navigation sample and reliable.
- The appearance; the graphic and text should include single style that flows throughout.
- The structure; it was a quite challenging experience creating a user-friendly web page to meet

What Features of the Constitution Make it Difficult for Government to do or Achieve Anything

The separation of powers in the constitutions that prevent government from having his way to take a decision and implement it. The reasons that the constitutions has apportion the decision making process and it subsequent implementation among the three arms of government. The executive may introduce a policy statement in the form of a deal to congress but whether that policy can see the light of the day depends on the approval or other wise of congress. This means that, if congress is not in agreement with the government it will shut down the policy statement which has been introduced. The adjudication process is also entrusted to the judiciary such that if the president or any member of the executive does something or decides to do anything, the government action can be challenge in the supreme court and if the court comes with a determination, that the government action is unconstitutional it will order the government to seized and desist from taking such action. However, there are certain areas in the constitution which give the power to the executive to tale a decision and implement it. Example, the power to wage war. But even here the government will still have to forward to congress the budget on the war. In my opinion the constitution should remain the same.

EXPERIENCE OF CREATING A FEEDBACK FORM AND RECEIVING FEEDBACK

Using the Jot form website to create forms is the most easiest and comfortable to work with. This is due to the fact that you have everything needed on the website that makes no error in creating a form. The most difficult part of creating the jot form is the dates and years because is a repetitive work. Jot form also gives you access to people to post in their comments and feedback on the website I created. Receiving feedback from my classmates has motivated me to keep doing a wonderful job on my website because the entire class could be watching my website. I have received great response from some of my classmates. They rated my website with an average of 5 points and I am very proud of myself. I started this class only knowing how to check my email and my online class. Today, I have my own website and I believe I have accomplished a lot. I also believe a journey of a thousand miles starts with step and I have really started the journey very well. I love the direction this class is leading me to in terms of creating things on your own guided with the right steps by the professor.

Web Application "Bing"

Bing is a search engine a computer application created by Microsoft Ceo Steve Ballmer, it originally was named Kumo and because the name did not seem so appealing they stuck with Bing. This service engine has not been part of the internet world like its pioneers Google and Yahoo. Although Bing is fairly new it has some qualities that can be interesting for those who are computer literate. It does not have much listing when looking for categories thus making it easier to do simple searches unlike Google the image, map, videos, etc can be a little midi occur and even none existing. I compare Bing to Google because in order for Bing to become as famous and reliable as Google it will have to step it up a notch. I searched for a local restaurant on both Google and Bing, Google automatically looked up the name by location and then listed all other facilities with the same name in different towns near me, Bing on the other hand gave me only one half of page with listings and none where anywhere near my location. In summary Bing has potential but it has a lot of work to do to catch up to Google.

Cascading Style Sheets

It is one of the difficult tasks I am still facing this semester with this class. I believe I made some mistakes when I started styling and if you look at my website I have only changed the heading titles to blue and also the click buttons to red. The journey of cascading is still an ongoing process and I have to go back and read the steps video the professor posted and hopefully, I will be able to complete the cascading style sheet. There is a saying that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. I believe I have started the journey with a step. All I need to do is to go back and start all over. I looked at some of my class mates website and I loved the cascading style especially Anteah’s website. The only way a person can get better is to learn from their mistakes. I will revisit my website and try to complete the CSS once and for all. I believe he who fights and run away needs to fight another day so why not stay and complete the fight

Jury Versus Judge

Do you think a jury should be over-ruled by a judge?
In any legal proceedings where the judge determine a case with a jury, the duty of the jury is consider the issues of facts while that of the judge is to direct the jury on the elements of the crime or the claim. The jury is therefore the Trier of fact while the judge is the Trier of the law. It is a cardinal rule of law that the facts as determine by the jury must not be interfered with. But in limited circumstances, the judge can overrule the jury. This limited circumstance includes the following. 1. When the jury considered irrelevant facts to come to their verdict. 2. When the jury fails to consider relevant facts when they should have consider before coming to the right decision. 3. When it is found out that some members of the jury have personal interest in the outcome of the case. 4. When the jury is bias. 5. When the jury determine the case of purely on sentiments and emotions rather than considering the raw facts as they are.

Key Issues I will Talk About As a Presidential Candidate

The keys issues that will face candidates are A. Unemployment: high national unemployment rate & dwindling family incomes is making life/survival difficult for the average American who have to pay utilities, feed, pay mortgage etc. B.  National Health Care: high medical cost is making life so uncomfortable for average Americans who can't not only afford medical costs or health insurance premiums but trust insurance companies with their life in the event of an illness. C. Regulation of the financial sector(Banks & Wall Street): the absence of strict financial regulatory laws and policies was the cause of the recession and other fraudulent financial schemes with its corresponding negative effects on family incomes, savings, and retirement benefits and livelihoods .D. The War in Afghanistan: Is another huge burden America has to deal with in terms of financing resource acquisition for troops and supporting Afghans to deal with the threats of the Taliban’s/Al-Qaeda in that region.  E. National Debt Recovery: the huge national debt facing the country under the current economic situation predicts a very blare future for the next generation of Americans. F. Immigration Reform: in the fight against terrorism, controlling immigration or securing the ports of entry to USA is an important issue in order to keep Americans safe. However, efforts must be made in order not to make America unattractive for genuine and decent foreign investors and visitors. Which will in affect tourism and the GDP; Gross Domestic Product - due to low foreign investments in the economy.

Pros and Cons Of The Internet

For a principal fact one must understand what the internet as a whole is. This will allow any individual to be able to know the advantages and disadvantages of the internet to the society as a whole. From the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary the internet is defined as “an electronic communications network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world.” But in my point of view the internet is just a means to stay in contact with the world being it negative or positive. Communication started from the very huge telephones to the very huge mobile phones that were difficult to carry and not owned by the majority. Then it moved to the smaller and more sophisticated mobile phones which can be used in communication including having access to the internet. One of the greatest advantages in this case is that the internet can even be carried in the pocket. Personally when I am given an address to go to a place I don’t know I go straight to goggle the address on the internet and I am giving out the exact directions making life very convenient even in terms of movements. With websites like Face book and Twitter people from all over the world are able to get into contact with friends and family no matter what continent or part of the world they are. Not forgetting a website like Skype can actually make people see each other whiles communicating or chatting. Getting addicted to a website like Face book can be very dangerous to both individuals and the society as a whole. People at their work places can leave their work undone and rather “face book” their work time. Kids will sit in the bus and “Face book” the whole time and forget to get off at the right stop because they were concentrating on their addiction- Face book.
Emails are a very good way in communicating with people all over the world. But emails once sent can never be erased whether the message was good or bad. On the other hand instead of sending a letter through the post to each individual at a work place and risking the fact the letters can be lost emails are better options. On the whole the internet has its pros and cons depending on how it is used and what it is used for. In Africa there is a proverb that goes like “one man’s meat is another man’s poison”. So the internet can be very good for one person but to another it can be a massive destruction.

Constitution: Should Terms Of Menbers Be Limited?

No, the constitution must not be amended to limit the term of congressmen and senators for the reason. (1) It will compromise the experience that comes with the long period of being of congressman. For example, of Ted Kennedy, Allan Specter, John Kerry, and Joe Lieberman. These are experience senators and they always bring their experience to bear on national issues and on debate in the house. If the constitution is amended we cannot have such experience senators and congressmen. Because their term will have ended at the time that they are gathering experience.(2) The constitution itself gives the power to the electorate to vote out a non performing congressman or senator, so the vote of the electorate would determine how long a congressman or a senator stays at congress. Because they have this power, it does not make any sense to change the constitution to limit the terms of the congressman or the senator

The Future Of The Internet

I believe Internet is the only way to survive in the world we live in today especially, with everything being digitized. Most media outlets have to have a presence on the Internet in order to survive in today’s business environment.
The example that I would like to use is the newspaper media. From a small research that I did, I realized that newspapers are losing their advertisement to the Internet. A good example for me would be Real Estate. When house hunting it used to be you could go and pick up your Sunday paper and have every open house in the very city you bought that newspaper. This is still used but real estate agents have moved to the Internet to get more of a wide spread audience. They will post on Craigslist, yahoo, or eBay. The reason is because I can go to these websites and quickly pull up all open houses in any town I want, instead of having to go to the town and pick up a local newspaper.

Distributors of books, newspaper, or tabloids also have to have an Internet outlet or they will lose valuable views; example Barns and Noble, Amazon, and Boarders. I don't need to go into the corner, with the critical aspect of all books needing to be digitized or they simply won’t sell, it increases the availability of consumers to access all books from their homes.

Though all media needs to be digitized today, we always run into copyright and fair use issues. It is pretty easy for me to go to a website of a retail store, and take any image I want from that website and use it for my own use. I am sure we have all taken an image from a website to use in our life , and if you tell me you have not downloaded a song without paying for it you are just full of it. The effect is all outlets that use the Internet may lose money because of pirated songs, or not getting credit for photo that was taken or paid, but for the amount of money that is lost because of these issues the exposure and mass audience they all reach will let them profit more than they will lose.

Expectation In This Course

To be honest with the class, I didn’t know what to expect in this course other than learning how to use the internet via receiving and sending emails. Looking at the syllables and the course structure made me aware that is going to be more than what I taught the course will be. I have taken many courses that my expectations are also not right but at the end, I get to learn new things that I never thought I will know. For example, I have never created a blog in my entire life or commented on someone’s blog. The only thing I do on the internet is my online classes, emails, and research. I am not a fun of face book and the only time I am on the internet is either for work or school. Hopefully, by the end of the semester I will become internet friendly. In terms of topics, any topic goes with me. I believe it helps me to learn new things.

What I do for a Living

I am an Account Manager for a private security company called USI (United Security Incorporated).  The company is located in Cambridge. My client is called BMR (Biomed Realty Trust) they are a real estate company and they build lab science. I manage five buildings (security) with fifteen employees. I have been working in the security industry for seven years. I started as a security officer for one year. I was promoted as a site supervisor for five years and then promoted again as an account manager for almost one year. I love my job and I love taking care of people especially been around to help customers when the need arises.  I also like to be around to support the fire department or EMT when there is an incident on my property. I am the eyes and ears of the client. In case of an emergency, I should be the first person to notified my property manager and fellow up with an incident report.
